Wait What Happens When I Get There…

Figure Out What You Need:

PT, Pilates, Classes, Privates, Etc.

When you're new to Restore Rebalance Wellness, the first step is figuring out whether a Physical Therapy Evaluation or a Pilates Assessment is the right starting point for you. You can learn more about each option here:

If you're still not sure which one fits, you can schedule a free informational phone call with Dr. Sarah, PRI-certified DPT and Pilates instructor, and she'll help you decide. You're also welcome to email us directly at info@restorerebalancewellness.com with any questions.

Once you know which path is right for you, book a Physical Therapy Evaluation or a Pilates Assessment.

Here is What You Can Expect…

At Your Physical Therapy Evaluation & Treatment Session

  • A thorough review of your medical history‍

So your treatment is built around your full health picture, not just your symptoms. ‍

  • A head-to-toe movement assessment‍

Evaluating your posture, movement patterns, and breathing mechanics. ‍

  • Corrective exercises and techniques‍

From there, she performs targeted corrective techniques based on what she finds, and reassesses your movement immediately, in that same first session, to confirm the techniques are producing the intended result.

This immediate reassessment means you won't be sent home with weeks of exercises that may not actually help. If a technique isn't working, Dr. Sarah adjusts course before you leave.‍

  • Exercises will by Email to you

Any corrective exercises or techniques identified during your session are emailed to you within 24 hours. If you'd prefer a video demonstration instead of, or in addition to, written instructions, just let your therapist know at your visit and one will be provided.‍

  • Follow up

Dr. Sarah typically recommends a follow-up appointment within one to two weeks of your evaluation. This timeline is adjusted based on your individual circumstances, symptoms, and how you respond to the initial corrective work.

The number of visits you'll need varies by person and depends entirely on what your body needs. There's no fixed package or predetermined number of sessions. Dr. Sarah is typically able to give you a clearer estimate after your second or third visit, once she can see how quickly you respond to treatment and how well you maintain those changes between sessions.‍

At Your Pilates Assessment

  • A quick movement screening

To evaluate your postural and movement patterns and guide your Pilates practice. This screening is not intended to diagnose or treat an injury; if you're managing pain or an injury, a Physical Therapy Evaluation is the right starting point instead.‍

  • If you're new to Pilates

You'll learn the fundamentals: Pilates breathing basics, postural techniques to relax the back and neck, and an introduction to basic Pilates repertoire.‍

Your session may address breath mechanics as needed, along with her signature cueing and coaching language. You'll also learn hip shifting and the "hula hips" technique, a movement not typically taught in traditional Pilates but valuable for gait mechanics. It's informed by Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) physical therapy principles and Rebalance Pilates methodology, and you'll learn how to apply it directly to your Pilates repertoire.‍

  • If you have Pilates experience but haven't worked with Dr. Sarah before

  • Every client leaves with strategies

To modify or accommodate their own areas of concern or injuries, so your Pilates practice supports your body rather than working against it.

  • Follow up: Privates or Classes

You both can figure out if Pilates private sessions, virtual mat classes, or in-person reformer classes are right for you. Dr. Sarah can help guide you on this if needed.
